The Mediterranean city beaches are convenient and close, but they are also the busiest at the height of summer. If you want a different landscape and fewer crowds, head for the nature beaches — Eilat’s coral reefs, the mountain-ringed Sea of Galilee beaches, and the Dead Sea with its unique water.

Note that many nature beaches are not declared bathing beaches. Declaration is an official status of the beach — it does not guarantee that the lifeguard station is staffed while you are in the water, and an undeclared beach may have no lifeguard service at all. Check before entering the water, and respect the reserve or park rules. Some Sea of Galilee beaches allow BBQ in designated areas only.
